The Wyvern is a dragon like creature often used in medieval heraldry as a symbol of war, envy and pestilence. The Wyvern is often portrayed as having two front legs and two powerful wings. In some cases the Wyvern has tail spade and in others it possess a venomous stinger as a tail. Another version of the Wyvern is the Sea Wyvern which looks similar to the regular Wyvern but has a more fish like tale.

Some researchers have theorized that tales of the Wyvern are possible evidence of a surviving population of Pterosaurs, a large flying reptile thought to have gone extinct around 65 million years ago. Similar to theories involving the existence of dragons there is no evidence supporting the existence of the Wyvern, and most researchers dismiss it as nothing more than medieval fantasy.
