The Sisemite is a Bigfoot like creature reported to live in the Guarunta Mountains of Central America as well as the surrounding wilderness of Guatemala. The Sisemite is often described as a 6 to 8 foot tall ape like creature with several human like characteristics including walking with a bipedal gait. The Sisemite’s hair is shaggy and so long that it sweeps the ground as the creature walks with its notably long strides. Similar to reported Bigfoot vocalizations, the Sisemite’s scream is often reported to be very loud and piercing and able to be heard for miles around the secluded hills and mountains the Sisemite calls home.

The Sisemite is known by several different names in the region, for example, along the Mosquito Coast of Central America it is known as the Ulak or Uluk. The Rama and the Creoles call this creature Yoho or Yubo, while the Spanish Mexican name for the creature is Chichimite. Some Indians claim that this mysterious creature has been seen on occasion over the last forty years around the Guarunta Mountains, which extend north of the lower Rio Coco. The Guatemalan Chorti Indians often associate the Sisemite with the abduction of women, which they say is for the purposes of procreation or companionship. They also believe that the Sisemite is the guardian of the wilderness, and is known to attack human hunters in order to protect the other creatures of the forest.
