Bobbie Short first became interested in cryptozoology, mainly Bigfoot, on the morning of September 8, 1985 when she saw a seven foot tall hair covered creature pass directly in front of her while backpacking with friends deep in the Humboldt Forest Trinity Alps region of northern California. Since that first encounter she has traveled extensively in the Pacific Rim in pursuit of unknown Hominoids. In March of 1999 Bobbie Short trekked the jungles of the Philippines to interview natives about their sightings and tales of unknown hairy, upright hominoids.
Short sat on the North America Science Institute’s short lived research board in Oregon and is a life member of the San Diego Zoology Society. She is also a member and contributing writer for the Western Bigfoot Society and a member of the International Society of Cryptozoology as well as the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club. In recent years Short has divided her time between field research and updating her website, www.bigfootencounters.com. She recently investigated sighting reports from Northern California believing that there may be a population of Sasquatch in the area.
